You need to be a subscriber to MSN Video, which I hope someone around these parts is.
Hopefully they'll stream The Hip's set for others to capture since I'll be at the show.

Something that just occured to me,sorry Tony for sqeezing in :oops: but say i was to show up for this gig, do I need a passport to step onto U.S. soil now?

Not yet ... but its always better to have a passport.
New Requirements for Travelers
The Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 requires that by January 1, 2008, travelers to and from the Caribbean, Bermuda, Panama, Mexico and Canada have a passport or other secure, accepted document to enter or re-enter the United States. In order to facilitate the implementation of this requirement, the Administration is proposing to complete it in phases following a proposed timeline, which will be published in the Federal Register in the near future.
In the proposed implementation plan, which is subject to a period of initial public comment, the Initiative will be rolled out in phases, providing as much advance notice as possible to the affected public to enable them to meet the terms of the new guidelines. The proposed timeline will be as follows:
December 31, 2006 - Requirement applied to all air and sea travel to or from Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda.
December 31, 2007 - Requirement extended to all land border crossings as well as air and sea travel.
This is a change from prior travel requirements and will affect all United States citizens entering the United States from countries within the Western Hemisphere who do not currently possess valid passports. This new requirement will also affect certain foreign nationals who currently are not required to present a passport to travel to the United States. Most Canadian citizens, citizens of the British Overseas Territory of Bermuda, and to a lesser degree, Mexican citizens will be affected by the implementation of this requirement.

pretty soon were all going to need passports to go over there, i used to go over all the time..so that kind of annoys me....its stupid they want us to go there and spend our money..whats next anal probes at the border???

another thing to add to this, Say a persons got a criminal record, would they not allow that person into the states for that? and the crime in question has been dealt with too, someone told me this is fact, but I can't see it....

Generally they do have the right to deny you entry into the States if you have a criminal record. It's all up to the customs officer's discretion. I have heard of cases where people have gotten across with a really old or minor record. But for the most part, if you want to cross the border without any hassle try to get a pardon or exoneration if applicable. There seems to be a major crack down on this issue at the border which has increased my workload significantly!

I have a friend who was denied entry into Canada, as he was traveling from Detroit to Toronto to see a Hip show. He had a criminal record for DUI that had been settled in the courts. When the Canadian border guard typed his ID information into the Customs computer his U.S. record appeared and he was told to pull over. Inside the Canadian Customs area he was told that he would be denied entry into Canada because his last offense was less than 5 years old. The reasoning was that if he did not obey U.S. laws then he would not obey Canadian laws also. Thus he was denied entry into Canada. But wait, there is a twist! The Canadian border officials stated they would give my friend a 3 day entry pass into Canada for $200. My friend paid the money, saw the Hip show and has never returned to Canada. This happened on the 2004 tour. Unless your offense is VERY minor or older than 5 years, I suspect that any person with a misdemeanor will be denied entry. If you have a felony, I would say you will always be denied entry into the U.S. or Canada.

not just for you but americans will also be required to get passports to go to canada and back to the us

hey CC, I checked all over the MSN Music site for the system requirements and couldn't find anything pertaining to Macs, so if some other kind Hipbasers could make every effort to cap the webcast it would be greatly appreciated by this taper in particular.

Somebody has got to step up here and come through for the Hipbase community. I would do it myself, but alas I have only a 56k Modem, and buffering times would be unbelievably poor. My point is, that if you have a broadband connection, and plan on watching the Hip play live online, you should take one for the team, and capture the video stream. Any Takers?
