NCAA Basketball- March Madness
#16

I'd third Uconn, exept that I know they will eventually be losing to the Tar Heels. I wouldn't be surprized if Syracuse could topple Duke if they made it that far. If the kid from Villanova is healthy I'd go with them....otherwise, I don't think any of the number 1 seeds is going to win it all this year

The guy from Villanova (last name Ray I think) was cleared by doctors to play yesterday. Does that mean he is healthy? I don't know about that but I still think they will go pretty far this year.

And I wouldn't count Gonzaga out yet. There is something about the phrase "we'll show them" that rings true in this situation. I don't think the selection committee took them serious (yet again) and I think the boys from Gonzaga have everything to prove and nothing to lose! (hey that rhymes) :jump

Yeah, Zaga sounds like a good bet...the chip on the shoulder, and a big time scorer who has all the making of a go to guy (at least on the college level). Like I said, Duke has the team if they don't look as tired as they did the last week of the regular season.

Yeah I would think safe money would be Duke or Uconn. But like you said eaerlier, I wouldn't count out Villi, UNC, Zaga, or some cinderella team with a glass slipper firmly in hand!

The Zags look good but as usual they dont have to play anyone in their conference. It is so weak. Ever since they have been a high seed in the tourney they get knocked out.

I hoping the alma mater Michigan State can pull something out. If they win their first game they will face UNC on Sunday. The big thing going for State is that the game is going to be played in Dayton, Ohio. About 4 hours away from East Lansing.

I guarantee it.

Saying that, it's not going to be me because of my person-defining laze.

Alright I started one.

(1) go to fantasysports.yahoo.com
(2) Log in with your yahoo ID
(3) click on tournament pick'em
(4) follow the instructions through to "join a private group."

Group ID: 86811
Password: hipsters

(5) Set up your team. It is probably easiest to identify everyone if they use the same handle they use here. Just a thought.

Spread the word.

Just a friendly bump to try and get some more people to join the pool. :thumb: :thumb:

Gonzaga can get far, but I think their lack of real competition in their confernence will get the best of them. However, Adam Morrison is the best player in the NCAA, so he might have something to say about that (lets hope the Raptors get him  )

I think Allan Ray from Villanova will be playing, however I don't see them in the final four. The same goes to Memphis.

My Final 4 stands at Duke, UConn, Boston College, and Kansas.

UConn over Duke in the final.

Usually the points you score in the first round (if a lot) carry you through the rest of the pool. But that isn't always the way it plays out.

Gonzagnutz sucks.

My Musketeers almost took them down last night and Xavier didn't have what I'd consider to be the caliber of team that should be able to compete with a legit 3-seed. Morrison is a stud, but next to him the Zags don't have shit. Horribly overseeded. I wonder how far AM can carry that sorry team....

I have your Spartans winning two and losing to UConn in the elite eight. I'm hoping the Big Ten has a great showing this year. No one ever wants to admit when that conference is strong (as I think it is this year). I wouldn't expect too much support for MSU in Dayton, though. That's where OSU is playing, and in these early rounds, I'd expect the Buckeye fans to be out if force, rooting against all other high seeds (though this Buckeye fan will ALWAYS root for Big 10 brethren, regardless of seed).....

I agree with you the Big Ten never gets the respect it deserves. Some said it was the toughest division this year. I tend to agree.

As for MSU being Dayton, I just feel its better to be there than say somewhere else far away.

No suprise here to seeing Cuse lose last night. For them to get a 5 seed was just wrong. They tanked the whole season and then won 4 games last week when some teams (UCONN) just packed it in.

Yeah I am not sure why I ever picked the Orange to go to the sweet sixteen. That was just plain dumb on my part. Cry

I had SYR. going out in the first round. I made some good picks and some bad picks yesterday. I picked Wis-Mill to beat Oklahoma!
