I know basketball isn't much of a hot topic on these boards, but is anyone besides me watching this?
I always do, cheering on my adopted Syracuse Orange.

However, I fear they will not be able to match the improbable run they've made in the Big East tourney.
I still don't know who I think it gonna win the NCAA championship, I'm leaning toward UConn though. As for Syracuse, you never know, considering how Gerry Mcnamara is heating up. The fact that we don't know is what makes March Madness so great.

Yeah I watch it every year. I had intended on coming to the board to see if there was any interest in starting a fantasysports pool for this. I did it last year with a couple of friends and it is a nice way to keep track as to how your picks are doing...but by seeing that no one is really talking about March Maddness, maybe I will just do it for myself...
If someone starts a pool, invariably people will join.

I guarantee it.

Saying that, it's not going to be me because of my person-defining laze.

Alright I started one.

(1) go to fantasysports.yahoo.com
(2) Log in with your yahoo ID
(3) click on tournament pick'em
(4) follow the instructions through to "join a private group."

Group ID: 86811
Password: hipsters

(5) Set up your team. It is probably easiest to identify everyone if they use the same handle they use here. Just a thought.

Spread the word.
As promised, I've joined. Now it's time for all you jerks to join.

That's right, I called you all jerks. Join and beat me, I dare you. :rambo: :rambo: :rambo:

Note: Only some of you are, indeed, jerks. me included.
I'm gunning for Texas (ha -- GUNning for Texas). No other team has won both the football and basketball national championships before in the same year.

Cheers,

Pat

Amen.
Ok, I'm in...My team is "The Completists".

Some of you might disagree with my Syracuse "One and Done" pick.

I won my pool the last two years, which included St.FX head coach Steve Konchalski and the majority of the St.FX X-Men.

Not to brag 8)

Also, does anyone else remember Juan Mendez from Montreal last year. He played for Niagara (they were a 14 seed). Anyways, he played very well all season (All-Time leading scorer in NCAA for a Canadian). He was MVP of the MAAC conference and led the conference in scoring (23.5, 3rd in the NCAA) and rebounding (10.6). He was named an NCAA All-American Honorable Mention. He played well in the tourney despite playing against one of the NCAA's best defensive forwards (Taj Gray). Juan had 22 points and 15 rebounds! Confusedhock: But, sadly, they lost. He's try for the NBA was unsuccessful, but still not out of the question. He's now overseas tearin' it up. I'm rooting for you Juan.

As for this year, some Canadians I can name from the top of my head (and alittle research), since I don't think theres a list:

Maurice Joesph (Montreal)- Michigan State
Corey Hallett (Shelburne, Nova Scotia)- Monmonth
Levon Kendall (Vancouver)- Pittsburg
Sheray Thomas (Montreal)- Kentucky
Pierre Marie Altidor Cespedes (Montreal)- Gonzaga
Ryan Wright (Mississauga, Ontario)- UCLA
Denham Brown (Toronto)- UConn
Andy Rautins (Toronto)- Syracuse
Marlon Pompey (Toronto)- Texas A&M
Chris McKay (Victoria, BC)- Montana
Mani Messy (Gloucester, Ontario)- Seton Hall

Canada doin' it BIG!
Represent Canada basketball boys!...I'm sure they will.
