I can tell you right now that Chris aint no asshole, thats for sure. He's done alot for us here, and like he said if you really were interested in learning about the band, there are better ways of going about it. But you choose to be an idiot instead, so I dont blame anyone for calling you out. If you really like the Hip thats great, just lose the nonsense and cool out, if not then take a hike. Ok, Im done.

If you are for real and want to contribute to this board then, by all means, stay. And if I have gained your respect at all, like you said earlier, then allow me to say that referring to Chris as an asshole is way out of line. I don't care what the other threads say. He has contributed infinitely more to this forum and to all Hipfans than I ever have. If you're just here to pick a fight, then I agree with Lizard King. Just go.

As you put questions marks after "now you are insultin me" I suppose your question(s) deserves an answer. I don't see how my last post was insulting you; I know that the truth hurts those who are ashamed of who they are, or what they've done, but I still don't see where I insulted you. But maybe you're having a hard time understanding what an insult is?

Insult: To affront or demean: an absurd speech that insulted the intelligence of the audience.

It's clear that is all you seem to know how to do. Hey Alanis, what would you call this situation?

You can think I'm an asshole all you want. In fact, I prefer it that way; it will ensure you stay out of my way, unless you get another urge to make a fool of yourself. And with all of the sadness and hate in the world, sometimes I need a laugh; a bit of comic relief - and that's what you provide every time you put your fingers on the keys and share your "wisdom" with us.

The regular readers/posters here at Hipbase know me, and know that I do everything I can to help spread The Hip's music. You only see what you want, and that's a shame because you're missing out on all kinds of great music.

Chris, I'd like to point out that no one responded to either of those threads. I don't know what brought on that little tirade of Spineless, but it's obvious it had no merit. No one responded because I'm not aware of any regular posters that consider you to be an asshole. I'm still not sure if this Tragically American fellow is legit or not. He may just be sorely misguided.

Besides, I bet they probably have sung about snowshoes and free medicare, at least in concert. Someone help me here.

obviously you are blissfully unaware of the litany of geographic references, American and otherwise, mentioned by The Hip in their lyrics....

Lets list a few for our uninformed friend. Mine is

Chagrin Falls, Ohio

(hmmm interesting. another American one. Maybe they ARE American.)

They do sing about Bobcaygeon, David Milguard, The Toronto Maple Leafs, Bill Barilko, Thompson, Montreal, Tom Tompson, Caribou and of course, the "All Canadian Surf Club"...and that's not even mentioning any live rants.

Last American Exit????

Tragically,

I think you are just a bit naive on the hip. I suggest not posting until:

Buy all ten albums, listen to them, go to a show, read some hugh maclennan, go check out the hockey hall of fame in toronto, and watch every episode of the trailer park boys, then you can post again.
