Hip new label signs with MapleNationWide
Heads up on First Release

The Hugh Dillon Redemption Choir’s Debut CD,
High Co$t Of Low Living comes out June 7th
on Ching Music / MapleNationWide

Toronto, ON – Paul Langlois (of The Tragically Hip), owner of the newly founded Ching Music record label, is proud to announce the signing of The Hugh Dillon Redemption Choir (fronted by former Headstones lead singer Hugh Dillon) and the release of their debut cd, High Co$t of Low Living.

“I’m so proud of this record, I’m thrilled with this opportunity,” says Hugh Dillon. “Paul Langlois is like Dave Grohl – everybody loves him and he’s a genius when it comes to rock and roll”.

High Co$t of Low Living, produced by Paul Langlois and mixed by Adam Kasper (Foo Fighters, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam), will also be the first Ching Music release that will be available across the nation as part of the freshly inked three year distribution deal between Ching Music and MapleNationWide. The cd will be available in stores June 7th.

“The minute I heard Hugh’s demos, I knew I had to be involved – getting these songs heard, and released to the public, has been a priority ever since”, said Paul Langlois, “I’m excited about this new relationship with MapleNationWide, as they have shown similar enthusiasm for Hugh’s project”.

"We're truly excited to be a part of Paul's new venture" says Matt Smallwood, Director of Sales & Acquisitions at MapleNationwide "the fact that Hugh's solo debut is the first release, certainly makes for an awesome combination."

The Hugh Dillon Redemption Choir is on tour now with many more dates to come:

April 30 – Toronto, ON – The Mod Club Theatre
May 02 – London, ON – Call The Office
May 04 – Ottawa, ON – Barrymore’s
May 06 – Burlington, ON – Big Buck’s
May 07 – Waterloo, ON – Starlight Club

Hey Paul, where's that ten dollars you owe me from that time I was in Kingston? and while we're at it, you still have that Yanni CD I let you borrow.

Not picking on Paul at all. Paul's the best.

What's Paul's shining moment in back-up vocals:

(a) Lake Fever ("... want to be a nobody without peer ...")
(b) Get Back Again ("... I could never leave my home ...")
© Ahead by a Century ("... I had a feverish dream ...")
(d) At the Hundredth Meridian ("... through the window ..."); or
(e) other suggestions??

Gotta be (a) or (b) where he actually sings the line before Gord.

I always loved that guy,

Definitely Lake Fever.

Other good ones -
Vapour Trails ("... it's time to let them sprinklers hose ...")
Pigeon Camera
Daredevil (especially the added "jump too" at the end when done live)

Count me in on the Paul love train! Big Grin

Paul is great in Pigeon Camera, but I can't argue with Lake Fever being his best backup vocal performance.

Well... I could argue it, but that would be silly since Lake Fever's so great.

Besides, Paul might kick my ass.
