The hdrc and Paul - gardenIsland - 04-28-2005

The HDRC is playing at the Mod club in toronto on Saturday, and according to theoir websit http://www.thehdrc.com both Paul and Bruce McDonald will be appearing as special guests.

I have to say, I got the album a while ago and i really am enjoying it - and Hugh always puts on a good show. . .

I've always wondered what those copywritten 'phrases' at the end of The Hip's CD's were (copyright Weiner Art, Arte Humane, Dirty Shorts, Bhaji Maker and Ching Music)

Is it just a coincident that there are five utterly confusing author's of the work on The Hip CD's and five guys in the group, two of which have become mini-record labes (Gord Downie's solo work under 'Weiner Art, Paul's 'Ching Music')?

Hugh's a cool guy and a class act. Good to see him step up and support Paul like that.

And here's hoping Paul's new label is a major success!

Good job in seeing that. Now does anyone know who the other three "names" refer to? My guess is this:

Arte Humane = Gord Sinclair
Dirty Shorts = Johnny Fay
Bhaji Maker = Robbie Baker

Can anyone confirm/deny? Does anyone have any background? My guesses are just that.

Paul is da man.

I like the photo and caption with that link ... The guy they're talking about is out of focus and in the background.
