That's tragic.

If anyone has strolled through Queen's in the past five or six years, you may have seen "Smitty" do various Hip covers acoustic. He does Grace Too just about anytime you shout for Hip. While it doesn't sound very good coming from him (truth be told, nothing really does) it has always made me wonder what an acoustic Grace Too would be like full band.

Anyone have the VH1 Radio show that was done right after M@W was released? It was internet stream that featured Lake Fever, Stay, Puttin Down and ABAC all acoustic. I remember it being pretty solid. Stay was great (as it always was).

Cheers

Pat

PS: About the comment about Fever from the ACC show on NYD. I feel the same way about The Bastard. I couldn't get that song out of my head for weeks after that gig.

Right there with ya, JK...as a matter of fact, a friend and I used to perform an ever-so-slightly-altered double-acoustic version of Thugs at various local watering holes! A third buddy of ours would hammer along on his congos and bongos, and I thought it sounded frickin' great - we always had people coming up and asking us whose tune it was after the set....

It's funny I see this thread today. The first time I listened to the new iTunes song last night, I immediately thought it would be perfect in an acoustic setting and that the Hip have never played an all-acoustic show to my knowlegde.

I go to SF for the Neil Young's annual Bridge School Benefit (all acoustic) on average about every other year. It's an incredible event. I wonder if the Hip have ever been invited to perform?

Was there this year (solely for Macca, but also LOVED Tony bennett and sonic youth) but I was amazed at how many of us Canucks were there, based on the cheers when Tegan & Sara and sonic youth (oddly enough) referenced Canada. And of course when Neil sang Journey through the past, the 'going back to canada' line got a big cheer....so I figure the Hip would do alright down there.

I'll post this to the tracker if people are interested.
