I'm astonished that 2 people voted for Up To Here. God, it's a gem.

Up to Here if it were released today people would be calling it there best release ever. its just that some of the tunes have taken on the
"Freebird" disease. great song but when you hear it over and over it loses its luster. IVL was an album that took many many plays to really get into it. then after seeing the songs live it really took off.
the obvious vote is the EP. thats a no brainer but my vote went to
Trouble In The Hen House. it has the classic ABAC but after that it never really measured up to other releases.

Its funny to see IVL get votes, as it is in my top 2 with Fully, those two albums, to me, marked changes in the sound of the band. IVL and IBE seem like sister albums, just like DFN and FC seemed like sister albums. I hope they continue to record music like this because it is so great, and in my opinion, the last two albums have had the greatest lyrics on them.

i think i would have to go with up to here...i love all the songs on it but...i think it is probably the only album i couldnt listen to twice in one sitting...as the hip have evolved each album has become different from the last and the next, and the actual songs in the album have done the same...

screw all of you!! I'm A Werewolf Baby ROCKS!!! just kidding ... i picked EP too. BUT to be honest, i dont EVER listen to the studio CD's. It's bootleg or bust for me!! Hell, ive heard the new one once and its collecting dust with the others -- i listen to the Mod Club radio show. sooo i guess thats why i picked EP ... because of the limited bootlegs from that time -- overall, it would be tough to pick a worst CD because of the different tours --songs & setlists -- Arena show vs Bar Show -- Canada vs USA -- hmmm, all of them are sooo great -- sooo i guess my question will be ... favourite bootleg??

the hip certainly dont stand still. the new cd is titled perfect. "In Between Evolution." they have evolved every album. so far every twist and turn i've liked. here's hoping another twenty plus years of the hip evolution.
was that a little over the top??
I think many people are voting for EP because the band has changed to much and has 'evolved' so much. The lyrics and musicianship has improved so much over the last 20+ years. Even Gord's voice and the general musical style of the world has changed so much since the hip first formed. It's amazing when I listen to some of the stuff I listened to as a kid and it's SO much different. When I listen to EP I hear the 80's sound in the album and music has changed so much since then. Heck, even recording quality and techniques have changed enormously!

So I guess Day for night and Phantom are the clear favorites garnishing zero votes so far. I'm surprised Music @ work and IVL have gotten so many votes...does the hip base members like the oldies more? I guess so. 1 vote for IBE, come on, give it a chance...the mere fact that they laid down a lot of those tracks live (no over dubs etc...) makes it better than IVL, which seemed so air brushed. I like the favorite boot poll, I think I'll start that. should it be set or song? I think I'll do song and go from there.

So does that mean that with no votes, PP and DFN are the Hips best albums or just that they are definitely no their worst albums? I'd go with the former.
