Here's the line-up of curtain jerkers before the boys tear-up some Huron horizons, any good?

01:00 PM Theresa Andersson
02:15 PM Roomfull of Blues
03:45 PM Colin Linden (His BARK stuff is really good, anybody seen him solo?)
04:15 PM David Gogo (I've heard the name... is he decent?)

Never heard of the first two, but Colin Linden is cool. I interviewed him when he played the Ottawa Folkfest in 2002, and he's a fantastic guy. As a solo act he's very much a bluesman. You'll like him.

As for David Gogo, my high school garage band opened for him in Thunder Bay at a place called Crocks N' Rolls waaaay back in '95 (believe it or not). I remember him being a really nice guy. Didn't care much for his music though. Pretty much your standard blues-rock Jeff Healy/Colin James kind of stuff. Nothing to write home about in my opinion.

Well, I'm in luck! I like Healy/Colin James stuff, and the stories you've told me about your van travellin', hard livin', garage band (What was their name again?) are a sure fire conversation starter with Gogo.

Shanon, myslef, and our Wasaga Hip Posse promise to use your name to get backstage!!

LOL! Good luck with that.

David Gogo's predicted response: "Casey who???"

No seriously, what was the name of your band again? I've been racking my brain all day.

The high school band was called Wilderness Drive (stupid name, I know), but the band you're probably thinking of was called Visions of Kody.

BINGO! Yeah, that's it. Doncha hate it when stuff's on the tip but ya just can't get it?

I like that name. Links to Kathy-Lee notwithstanding.

I'm bringing my Detroit posse to Wasaga Beach for a four day weekend. There will be eight of us. Looking for fun in the sun while checking out all the hard bodies on the beach. I heard there was a professional beach volleyball tournament there that weekend.

The culmination and high point will be The Hip concert of course! I'm not sure if I'm more excited about seeing the band for the first time on this tour or that it will be the first concert ever for my two kids. They love The Hip as much as I do! They get so excited when we talk about it.

Any plans for a pre-concert get together? I have a few ideas. If anyone else has some suggestions then send me a PM. I hope we can have a few adult beverages together (or not) and get "psyched up" for the show. I hope to meet some of you and put some faces together with the screen names.

Detroit Rock City huh? Is "Big Ben" coming with ya? I'd challenge you to meet me at the arcade, but I'm afraid your kids would kick my ass at just about everything... As for adult beverages: Are you sure you can handle a Canadian beer?

Oh, by the way I love Labatt's Blue. I don't know if I can drink Johnny or any the of the boys under the table, but I'll try to show my Canadian roots.
