I think it is their way of turning aside all the talk of them being upset about so many people downloading the new tune. Now they are giving everybody, US, Canada, Europe, wherever a chance to hear the new song and rightfully so. They even did one better, released the video with it. How great is this video, very creative and fun to watch. I'm sure we'll all watch it again and again. I really don't think they care about the new song being downloaded as much as they care about promoting it and getting the music out there for fans. They make their money through album sales, touring and merch, not a 99 cent single. Anyways great video! Great song! Now just waiting on the whole album!!!

And yes, what a striking resemblance between Baker and Jesus, haha.

I read that article when it was first posted, and didn't think that it was bad press. And besides, I doubt that would have had any impact on how/when they released the video. Video/album releases are well planned events...

After watching the video about twenty times now and going on what I remember about footage from The Spades, it looks like the video is set at The Bathouse. Most of the video is spent exploring an old house. The drawings on the wall of The Hip might represent the various pictures of them at The Bathouse. There's a part where it looks like fish flying out of the back of a piano (between the keys), I would think The Hip might have a piano on hand at their own recording studio. Some of the video takes place in the soundroom, with all of the mixing boards/soundbooth and the computer showing "burning down to ember's end". Another part looks like it takes place in a storage room, where the finely-cut strips flutter together to make up the old photos. I like a few more things: how the dust rises when the rocket takes off during "heading home in the dust", the stars twinkling during "this slowly falling star", and how the camera pans out over the skyscraper-filled city that sits on the mixing board, during the final lines "wherever you are". The very last few seconds of the video seems to be an actual picture of The Bathouse (versus the rest of the video being completely animation).

The Bathouse: That's the first thing I thought.
If you check out the pics on The Bathouse website (http://www.thebathouse.com/) it becomes pretty clear that's where the video is set.

this video is awesome. i love how the hip released a modern looking video for an early-90s-hip-era rocking single. this summer is shaping up nicely.
btw, there is in fact a piano and a couple of keyboards in the bathouse and they are all contained within their own cool little room.
