The Weakest Link - Trouble at the Henhouse - Round 2
#16

Escape@Hand Wrote:What the heck?!?!! 700 ft Ceiling is being eliminated? That's one of the best songs on the album!

Agree. Every song on TATH has a slow-burn open, the exception being 700 Ft., so it provides a nice counterpoint to the rest of the album (yes, I'm ignoring Coconut Cream). I love the tumbling clatter of Johnny's drums at the beginning before the bracing heavy guitar kicks in. It sounds like he kicked over his drum set over to start the song. I also love the way "Tobacco Nation" rolls off Gord's tongue, and the fact that I haven't the sweetest idea of what he's talking about here. And finally, I love the clamor when Paul starts in with his background vocals. His vocals run a step behind Gord and create an interesting confusion when trying to sing along to the song in a way that I don't think happens in any other Hip song. Overall, a killer tune and completely unworthy of going out before something like Apartment Song or Let's Stay Engaged.
