Would love a four piece tour

That being said, I would still bet on them doing a one off, huge benefit concert in the upcoming months (similar to the Freddie Mercury Tribute) where the band will perform with guest artist with all benefits going to cancer. I think odds are pretty good this will happen.

I thought about this too. Proceeds to Sunnybrook/Downie Wenjack. Different singer for each song

I actually hope they don’t do this, even tough the cause is obviously a noble one

That last tour, as perfect a month as I’ve ever seen in pop culture, should be the call to action.

Tampering with those final shows would be a travesty

The memory of this band and their legacy should be rooted in the bravery of that last tour

Don’t fuck it up

I would have no problem if the 4 of them played Hip tunes with other people singing. Or just rename the band The Hip and take the Tragically out of it. Then get someone like Hugh Dillon join them to sing and play totally new music. It would not be the Tragically Hip. It would be The Hip and Dillon. Hugh is an excellent frontman and he has a close relationship with the boys and they would make totally new music and once in a while throw in a few Tragically Hip songs.
I would also follow them doing solo stuff as I have already done that so nothing changes there. But they play to fucking good together to let it all go.

Give it time......Keep and open mind. Speaking for myself, I'd be interested in something the guys put together in the future...Let's wait and see. Who knows.

Its inevitable that the 4 will continue on collaborating and making some type of music together. I would NEVER EVERwant them to continue on as the HIP or do any songs by the HIP...its best to let that go...it will never be the same and I'm sure they realize that..its too hard otherwise and just a sin to Gord.

However, i would LOVE to see them make music together...original tunes...different band, different feel...maybe a female singer? Sarah Harmer maybe? I'd dig that alot.

If (hopefully when) Paul tours again, I'd be down for him singing a Hip tune in the encore (My Music at Work, maybe even Get Back Again). Def not advertised as 'Paul plays The Hip', just his solo work with a Hip tune of his liking in the encore.

My thoughts exactly. I'm sure we'll see more solo work from Paul eventually, and probably another Stripper's Union album from Rob and Craig Northey. And I'm sure the guys will continue to collaborate with each other on various projects going forward.

It's not like business with the Hip will suddenly stop either. It's very likely that we'll see more releases in the near future. Plenty of stuff in the vaults that could potentially see the light of day: unreleased material, live albums, DVDs, etc... At some point in the future I'd personally love to hear the Music@Work and MMP shadow albums, maybe as a box set of unreleased material, like Pearl Jam's "Lost Dogs".
