NHL 2014-2015
#16

Glad to see any NHL forum going again! I watched that game, was hoping Tallas would actually get to go in.

Rangers are looking good this year. Once Lundqvist returns, they just might have the deepest D core in the league with Lundqvist, McDonagh, Girardi, Staal Yandle, Klein & Boyle. Nash and Stepan have been dominant this season, Brassard is having a career year, and Hayes has been a great find!

Kreider and Zuccarello and even St.Louis at 40+ years old are no slouches either. They've got a great team

Time to get out the brooms!

The Flames/Canucks series has been an absolute war. Easily the most physical, heated series of the first round so far. So much hatred stemming from decades of playoff history between the two clubs. Flames came out with a huge statement game last night and now lead the series 2-1. I'm really hoping my boys can wrap this thing up in 5 or 6.

GO FLAMES!

Epic comeback by the Flames the other night. Down 3-0 in the first period, and they end up winning 7-4. Unreal. That was easily one of the greatest playoff games I've ever seen in the history of this franchise. The atmosphere in the Saddledome was the craziest I've ever seen it. Outside of maybe Winnipeg and Chicago, I'd argue that we have the loudest building in the league right now. Calgary's youth, speed, relentless forecheck and physical play eventually wore the Canucks down to the point where their D-men seemed tentative every time they went into the corners. The Ducks will be an even bigger challenge in round 2. The Flames were able to hold the Sedin twins to only 8 points in 6 games, but can they do the same thing against Getzlaf and Perry? I guess we'll find out. My head says the Ducks will likely win this one, as they're bigger, more skilled, and more experienced than the Flames. But my heart says my boys will once again find a way and make a good series out of it. Bring it on!

The Rangers/Capitals series has been a frustrating one to watch so far. The Rangers have only beaten Holtby 5 times through 4 games! It's a struggle to get pucks through the Caps sot blockers, and when they manage to, Holtby has been superb in goal. The Rangers were down 3-1 to the Penguins at this time last year and found a way to comeback and win the series. So that's what us Ranger fans will keep telling ourselves, but man it's going to be tough against these Caps.

Rick Nash has struggled yet again in the playoffs - 1 goal in his last 7 games - Martin St.Louis looks every bit of his 40 years, Derek Stepan has struggled, as has Hagelin. The only Ranger forwards who IMO have had a strong series so far are Derick Brassard and Kevin Hayes. The always solid Ryan McDonagh has had some costly mistakes in this series as well. And finally, Keith Yandle hasn't worked out like like hoped so far. They gave up a lot to get him, but he's been a disappointment thus far.

You have to feel for Lundqvist, he's been excellent but just isn't getting the goal support. Game 5 is back in MSG, one game at a time, anything is possible!

As a Panthers fan, I must say that the Panthers / Lightning rivalry has to be the friendliest one I've ever seen.
In the Panthers fan forum I frequent, the common term used is 'FloridaBros'.

So, having said that, I'm hoping my fellow FloridaBros finish off the Montreal Carey Prices tonight.

Should be a dandy.

That should have been "Black Hawks"

The conference finals have been very entertaining so far. Both series have been fun to watch. I'm also hoping for a Rangers/Hawks final. Obviously I want the Rangers to win the Cup, but seeing PEI's Brad Richards hoist his 2nd Cup would be a nice consolation prize. He's been playing great in these playoffs, the best I've seen him skate in couple years.

I knew Tyler Johnnson was good, but wow, what a dynamic player! I hold my breath everytime him, Palat, and Kucherov step onto the ice!
