New Single / Tour Announcement Coming October 6!

II'm just realizing that in 2014, reissue usually means a vinyl release too..... !!!!!

I'm also a bit torn on this one. Releasing a tune that's been in circulation 20+yrs is a bit of a joke. Unless...they are releasing several b sides and actually play them.

This tune's ok. Just ok. Unless they speed it up, this is NOT going to grab people.

I always really loved these two bonuses from Fully. (Radio, but Blonde more)
It could be the illusion of never hearing them live or heavy rotation. (Yeah I know they have been teased tons)
And I always find myself, always, hitting the guitar to the five note Radio Show progression just because I totally love the sound of those five plucks.

But Baker was quoted as saying the reason this song never made the album is because it is a direct steal from Riders On The Storm.

I hope they release Blonde Solid, too. What a great tune.

Interesting news...the Hip app says Monday is gonna be a good day, and with the news about Radio Show it should be a very interesting day.

I have a recording of this song live in Toronto (04/18/1992), it's sped up a bit more than the studio version and sounds pretty good.

am i the only one who finds re-issues incredibly lame?

The version of Radio Show on You Tube is from the Swinging on a Star CBC program; it's just Gord and Paul. The version of Get Back Again most everyone has is from the same set (We'll Go Too and Pigeon Camera were also played).

The live version from April 1992 is much closer to the studio version on the Fully demos (which I don't seem to have on this computer, and it's killing me). If I'm not mistaken, the version of Radio Show on the demos is different than the one that was a Song of the Day a couple of years ago. And truth told, I still really don't hear Riders on the Storm at all - unless the real version has some fancy electric piano solos.

I'm listening to that 1992 show now, another gem from The Horseshoe. Pretty decent audience recording, with some great Gord speak ("In the hockey games tonight, all your favourite teams lost"). It is amazing to hear these songs met almost with indifference - at least as each song begins. The crowd was decently into it. Good to know Toronto crowds (myself included) have been talking through cool shows forever though.

thebends Wrote:Radio Show is a fantastic tune and if its a signal of where the band is at right now then :jump :jump :jump super-stoked :jump :jump :jump is an understatement.

Can't help but feel that it is a signal of where the band was at 20 years ago. Where they are at now is trying to squeeze every last cent from it Cry

I hope I am wrong.

so, what does this mean? full re-issues???? vinyl only???? that'll get expensive. especially if it was like the Road Apple one. (wasn't that $40???) i couldn't even convenience myself to cough up that much dough.

granted remastering would be nice. the first handful of releases were a bit low, when discussing the overall mix

Cue the inevitable internet disappointment about only two unreleased songs being included (and neither being Blonde Solid) in five, four, three, two...

Seriously - Heksenketel on DVD and an uncirculated show from the early 1990s. I can get behind that.

And remember, when Phantom Power eventually gets this treatment, the better version of You See Details (which is Bumblebee) will see hopefully see the light of day.

Yes, this is Bad-Fucking-Ass, Love It!

I will not give up. My face is set,my gait is fast,my goal is heaven,my road is narrow,my way is rough,my companions are few,my guide is reliable,my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, diluted or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity,or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I will not give up,shut up or slow down....Blessed Be!
