Just heard on Power 97 in Winnipeg that they'll be playing the new Hip single on Monday morning at 6 AM!
Well this certainly came out of nowhere!
My interest is quite piqued! Hearing the first single will most likely give a good indication on the direction the boys are heading on the new album!
If I recall, At Transformation was released quite a bit ahead of the record, like before the title of the record and release date were even officially announced. I'm surprised they're using this strategy again because it seemed like At Transformation had some pretty solid buzz, but five months later when the record came out it was off the radio and the first week album sales were abysmal. Maybe they make more money on digital downloads?
Also, if they're this far along, I'm surprised we haven't had any in-studio updates like they did with the past two records. This at least gives me hope that there will be some new music for the rumoured tour and would make even more sense that tour dates are announced soon with the buzz from the new single and NHL kickoff show.
Well isn't this a nice little surprise! I didn't realize they were that far along into the new record. I figured they were likely just in the writing stages, but perhaps this is a sign that a new album is closer than we think. Looking forward to hearing this.
well NFPA came out in october 2012 but it was pretty much ready a year before that, so I guess it's been awhile. please let's pray he sings the hits properly at this free show!
I know its majorly stretching things, but....
I did a quick check online to see if this single release was mentioned anywhere else. Nothing popped up, but interestingly enough it reminded me that October 6th was the date Fully Completely was released in 1992. Any significance with that perhaps, or merely just a coincidence? Maybe a tour announcement the same day, performing FC in its entirety? 2015 would only mark a 23 year anniversary, not really a milestone number.
meh, probably just coincidence, just thought it was interesting

Maybe Blonde Solid will be the new single to coincide with the rerelease of Fully Completely.
*Edit
Dammit, out of the two tunes I picked the wrong one.
One of the Power 97 DJs just tweeted that, in response to the single being played at 6 AM, "there might be more than a single

"
Looks like we'll be getting our tour announcement on Monday!
Just saw this on the Power 97 website.

Damn, I was hoping this was an actual new song being unveiled. Still though, it'll be cool to hear a proper studio version of Radio Show. Makes me wonder what other b-sides might be on this release.

I was hoping so as well. Should be an interesting release though and hopefully followed by an equally interesting tour! I need my Hip fix....
A studio ersion of Radio Show does already exist...

True, but the sound quality isn't the greatest and it's clearly sourced from a rough demo mix. The remastered single will likely sound much better.
Radio Show is a fantastic tune and if its a signal of where the band is at right now then :jump :jump :jump super-stoked :jump :jump :jump is an understatement.
