ya know Billy, Its a funny story, well sad now that I look back at it.Me and my Best bud were sitting in the food court in Midtown plaza and he had enough to get in,but I was short, and so he said ok f**k it,I'm not going by myself so we started to walk out and just as we were passing the A&W, there on the floor was a 20 dollar bill, looking back on it,i'm not even sure if that 20 was enough to get me in but if it was I coulda got in with that, but did we go? No,instead we went and picked up 2 grams of hash Smile But to this day,me and him kick ourselves for not going to that gig. do you remember how much a tic was? and was it sold out?

I still have my stub tucked away somewhere, but I'm sure it was under $20. Sask Place wasn't sold out, but it was cabaret style and not the typical concert for an arena. There were lots of people though...the floor was full and so were the lower seats on either side of the stage. It was a gong show as the Hip were very late taking the stage, and by the time they did people were so sloshed and revved up that it was by far the crazist Hip show I've ever seen.

I have to chime in...but unfortunately not as someone who attended that show...one of my best friends at that time, was bugging me to make the trip with him from Regina...as I recall he drove back to Regina after the show...at the time I was not quite a 100% Hiphead and I decided not to go. :-(
He definitely told me all about the debauchery...in addition to the late start and excessive boozing, he also mentioned that by the end of the night...there were pieces of Halloween costumes strewn all over the place.

I'm not positive, but was the late start due to the infamous "drug bust" of someone in the Hip's road crew??? Although they did play Saskatoon again in November of 1992, so maybe the drug bust happened during that appearance. I believe they boycotted Saskatchewan from Nov. '92 to July of '95. Oh well, all is forgiven now!!!

The bust happened during the Fully Completely Tour, DFN tour they missed SK possibly cause of that.

I will not give up. My face is set,my gait is fast,my goal is heaven,my road is narrow,my way is rough,my companions are few,my guide is reliable,my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, diluted or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity,or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I will not give up,shut up or slow down....Blessed Be!

OK, back to current events...I was just thinking that a general admission show (which I assume is the only option for the Bess) doesn't really combine well with a fanclub presale.........

I guess what it does is just gives you first crack at the tickets, but if you want to be near the stage you're only option is to show up early....

I called yesterday and the guy said they max out at 3000 people so It will be pretty intimate little get together, and yes get there early.

Hey all,
I'm wondering how the presale works for this show. Tix go on sale tomorrow morning, and I'd like to get in on the presale despite it being a GA show. I don't want to miss out on this! Is there a password or something I need to get in on the presale??

wow 3000 I thought it would be even smaller than that, but yet GA you have to go early to get close, similar to the club shows last year

Go to www.thehip.com and there will be a message on the right hand side giving you the password for the presale and the link to ticketmaster if you are logged in. Then you do the rest!

Do you have kids yet? If not, just go...she will forgive you later. If kids are in the picture, it is a trickier situation and you need to do what is right for you and your family.

It's in the middle of my vacation from work and she'd be quite offended if I ditched her to go see the Hip in Saskatoon rather than actually spending time on holiday together. It's not a huge sacrifice, though, as we have tickets for the Stampede show. I just like the look of this venue, and have never been to Saskatoon before. Also I'm greedy for more Hip!

I got tickets!! Man, I am pumped. I'm leaving the next day on a road trip to 10k lakes festival to see them, as well as Trey Anistasio, the only person I've seen more live than the hip.

Nice work guys...I'd love to see them at that venue, it's very picturesque. I've seen quite a few jazz festival shows there and it's a perfect location.

Tell him to call Ticketmaster RIGHT NOW and cancel 8 of the tickets. They're usually okay with that if you get them RIGHT AWAY.
