Bessborough Gardens, I assume this is the back of the bess in saskatoon, overlooking the river. They often have the Jazz Fest out there.
Should be a cool gig.

Wow...that would be fantastic! What a great venue...it'll only hold a few thousand and such fantastic scenery.

Outstanding!!! I had been contemplating trips to Minneapolis or Calgary, but hadn't convinced myself. And now they're going to be playing a mere 2 hours away. Wednesday night show will definitely mean an extra long weekend will be booked!
Curious as to when this will show up on thehip.com...
Last comment, I still regret I wasn't yet a full time hip-head when they played at the Bess back in '91...oh well, I guess this makes up for it. :-)

Hmm...Ticketmaster shows a Vancouver date on July 12th...with presale tomorrow?!?
And they don't show the Calgary or Saskatoon shows....

Summiteer, were you at the Halloween 91 gig at Sask. Place? I have yet to find anyone, outside of the friends I was with, who actually went to this show.

ya know Billy, Its a funny story,well sad now that I look back at it.Me and my Best bud were sitting in the food court in Midtown plaza and he had enough to get in,but I was short,and so he said ok fuck it,I'm not going by myself so we started to walk out and just as we were passing the A&W, there on the floor was a 20 dollar bill,looking back on it,i'm not even sure if that 20 was enough to get me in but if it was I coulda got in with that,but did we go? No,instead we went and picked up 2 grams of hash
But to this day,me and him kick ourselves for not going to that gig. do you remember how much a tic was? and was it sold out?

I still have my stub tucked away somewhere, but I'm sure it was under $20. Sask Place wasn't sold out, but it was cabaret style and not the typical concert for an arena. There were lots of people though...the floor was full and so were the lower seats on either side of the stage. It was a gong show as the Hip were very late taking the stage, and by the time they did people were so sloshed and revved up that it was by far the crazist Hip show I've ever seen.
Now I regret it even more :lol:
