I'd love you to show me one reference - any reference whatsoever - that even remotely suggests that the guys in Pearl Jam were into KISS growing up. Just one.

I could find you dozens. Literally.

"[Stone] Gossard was such a huge Kiss fan that at one point he tried to make Kiss shoes for himself, nailing two-by-fours to a pair of thin-soled Capezios."

"...Mike was a disciple of Kiss, Aerosmith, and AC/DC just as Jeff and Stone had been..."

"Everything I know, I stole directly from Ace Frehley, Angus Young, and Keith Richards." -- Mike McCready

"Eddie dressed up like Kiss just like everybody else." -- Dave Abbruzzese

I found these four all in the same place: Kim Neely's book Five Against One. But if you read any interview with Mike McCready re. his guitar playing, he'll gush about Kiss; for that matter, so will lots of other Seattle scene musicians as well.
