This is the problem with fans of the Rock produced albums: at best they overcompensate and at worst they are completely delusional. To say that DS comes alive like nothing else in their catalogue is pure nonsense. All the Rock produced songs are better live, but I could come up with 75 other songs that blow DS out of the water.
I love the passion the haters have for Bob. In the end we are all Hip fans and besides that it's hard to argue against a persons opinion. But what the Hell, I'll give it a try.

I am so sick and tired of all you "experts" bitching about how Bob Rock ruined the band. Your the same geniuses who drove the band into a wall with all your "live from the floor" bullshit. Get over it. You people remind me of a parable The Paul once told. One fine summer day Paul was hanging out at the cottage knocking back a few cold ones and having a good time with his friends and family. When all of the sudden up walks some friendly neighbor type who drunkenly asks Paul " Why don't you make Tragically Hip songs like you used to?" At that point Paul hauls off and clocked the punk square in the face with a left hook. I may have added that last bit about the punching in the face. BUT HE SHOULD HAVE!
