On The Road - The 'Recent Concerts' Thread
#25

emperor penguin Wrote:Saw the Trews about a month ago at a small bar in Brantford and again at the McMaster University bar a few weeks later, both shows were really good. The McMaster show was all acoustic and the drummer played a bongo for most of the show which was pretty cool. They also did some pretty cool covers of When the Levee Breaks, Rock and Roll, Whole Lotta Love, Second Hand News and a few others that I can't think of right now.

I've seen the Trews several times, and they always seem to throw some nice covers/jams into their sets like that. I heard about that acoustic show at Mac, but wasn't able to make it down, I'm sure it would've been interesting. Spent so many nights at that bar while I was at Mac, yet have so few memories (god bless you $2 beer nights). Coincidentally the first time I saw The Trews was also at Quarters, about 3 years or so ago, it was a Tuesday or Wednesday night and no one really knew who they were at that point, there were maybe 50 people in the place. What an awesome show that was.
