Aaaah... You've come to the crux of the Canadian Identity Crisis.

We're not Americans! But we love American stuff! We're not Americans! But we wish we were! I am Canadian! But I'm incredibly insecure about it. Canadian culture rocks! But only if Americans approve of it!

And on it goes.... Ad nauseum... Honestly, the fact that the whole country hasn't been institutionalized is amazing.

Now that's a level of candor I thought I'd never hear from a Canadian on the subject......
