'Feeling' has very fun lyrics. Classic GD stuff (up to my torch, up to my tits, maybe I got no more innnnerest...' 'tiger's wheeling...' 'hey bartender one morea these...') Its bashers should consider that.

The loping drum beat is a nice change of pace, not something we hear much from them. Nothing wrong with that either.

Gord's vocals are unusually *relaxed.* I like that. Some don't, but I think it sounds good - much better than the adenoidal horrors of 'Drop Off,' say. In fact it's a main reason why I listen to the song.

The guitar sound is controversial, but I enjoy it. Wouldn't want it on every track, but as a one-shot, sure.

All it really lacks is a big hook.

So I think it's fine. Not a classic by any means, but a good album cut. And certainly it's not nearly as harrowingly bland as 'Speed River,' which is as forgettable as the Hip get.

I don't have an issue with Gord's relaxed vocals but I do feel like a change in delivery and tone would have helped for the chorus. While there are some interesting lines in the verses, lyrically and melodically the chorus is drab. There is very little variance between the opening "The exact feeling" and the later "In the exact feeling". If Gord had provided some vocal contrast in the chorus to differentiate it from the verses, I think the song would have benefited.
