Chris & Kate (and their first band Bourbon Tabernacle Choir) are good friends with the Rheostatics, so I'm assuming the Hip originally met them through the Rheos. Chris Brown also played keyboards on Music@Work, which likely led to them joining the Hip on the 2000 tour.
What songs did she sing on that tour? I saw M@W twice - I don't remember her singing anything in Minneapolis, but IIRC she did a verse of Wheat Kings and Yawning or Snarling?
