There was a trial today to decide guardianship issues re: his birth mom. We were faced with the doorway opening to adoption, or returning him to his mom with an hour or two notice.
I haven't wept when I first heard a Hip song since The Depression Suite. Until today.
Where everything is quiet
A little super-dangerous
In the shadow of the law
And with colours of justice.
It was damn near quiet enough to hear God rustling around in the bushes. I don't know if it's the song or the good news we received at trial today. Or both. But this song gets me.
Beautiful, another reason why I love this band, soundtrack to your life.
I will not give up. My face is set,my gait is fast,my goal is heaven,my road is narrow,my way is rough,my companions are few,my guide is reliable,my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, diluted or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity,or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I will not give up,shut up or slow down....Blessed Be!
