After a bit more "digging" I think that it is a mine/quarry operation. <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.teichert.com">www.teichert.com</a><!-- w --> is a mining/aggregate company and have two plants in the area we're talking about.

I wonder what kind of aggregates (stone) they are mining. If you look real close, it does look each of those swaths are are excavated & graded, and the center of each swath appears to be a lower elevation.

In other words, they seem to be big trenches......
