Not to stomp all over your post...but we can sit here all nite playing the "what if" game, the thing is they havent done it, she did it and she's a tool. If the Hip, re-did an album acoustic, or put out an all acoustic album, great! Ill be first in line to buy it. I hate alanis moreisshit to begin with so Im kinda biased here anyways

See, that's exactly what I'm getting at. Some of you obviously hate her, not that I'm defending her, but I do like her and I think an acoustic version of JLP is a desparation ploy because she hasn't put anything new out in while that's really hit it as big as JLP. I think that JLP is AM's "Thriller". Artists usually only see albums like that once in their career.

BTW, should have known better than to throw out a "what if" question to a crowd of mostly MEN! I know how guys hate to play the "what if" game. Sorry guys.

Apology accepted lol, thats cool, the only point I wanted to make is that its more in the context of why and how the artist in question goes about re-releasing an album, I dont believe the Hip would ever do what she did, but if they did an acoustic live show and taped it for release who among us wouldnt be jumping for joy? I dont see the need to re-do an album acoustically anyways, just do a mixed album if the music lends itself.

I get the feeling that the Hip are very careful and fussy about what they choose to put out. Look how long it's taken them to do a live DVD, while many of their peers have already released 2 or 3. Perhaps towards the end of their career we'll see a huge flood of Hip releases. But in the meantime while they're still a relevant and viable touring act, I don't think we'll see a lot of live albums, acoustic stuff, or rarities discs. But man, would that ever be nice if they did.

Totally agree, it seems as if they really like to safeguard their legacy and name, which is of course a good thing, and I think its paid off. Lets see what the future brings, hopefully a great DVD and some unreleased material. But hey Id settle for a few more albums, some more shows and a graceful exit.
