I saw him strumming away on 'Daredevil' during the Montreal stop of the DFN tour. December '94, if memory serves. I remember it clearly, though, because I was surprised and paid attention...he played, at most, two chords the whole time.

I always preferred the unmoored, guitar-less Downie. But hey, it's his show, he can do what he likes.

Is this his guitar strumming alone at the very end of 'Gus?' I love that bit.

That was my first show!!! (of 20 now). I remember that very clearly, DD during the encore and I was really surprised to see him play. It was hard to hear him except for at the quieter part.
My next show was Henhouse and he was playing alot then.
I wince sometimes when he goes for the guitar live because I'm pretty sure it's going to be a more recent song, I like the old stuff better.
