Why? Look, if you want some one to give you a definition of indie rock, the internet is your friend. But it's not really an important part of my point, which is simply that We Are the Same was a feeble album, which saw the Hip jettisoning many of the best aspects of their sound. It's been a problem since IVL, at least. That album was very similar to We Are the Same; it was full of arty songs that sounded very thin and had no punch.
