Southern US Tour>>>
#16

Seeing as how it's only six hours from the Sleeping Giant, I'm already gearing up for a road trip to Minneapolis (or even better -- Duluth!) this fall. Hell, I may even hike down to see Sam Roberts open up for Ben Kweller on October 6, visitors permitting.

Cheers,

Pat

Okay..this is serious..
Just talked to the manager of The Orange Peel and he said
the offer hasn't been returned yet..since the tour hasnt' been announced,
i'm still keeping my fingers crossed..

BUT CHECK THIS OUT..

He wants to do a pre-party with the Band at these SWEET new studios across the street, run a Promotional party..

I may be dumb, but what do you mean by "offer hasn't been returned"?

Well, being here in the South, not many people go to Hip Shows..
So, they basically gave them an offer, and waiting to hear if the Hip want to even deal with it..

This venue only holds 1000.

**please oh please oh please**

The Hip are pretty consistent hitting the Southeast on their tours. Hopefully since they played The Orange Peel in '04 for the IBE tour, they'll return. My wife and I drove from the Charlotte area for the show and got a room at one of the Asheville hotels right near the venue. There was a cool pizza place/brew pub almost right across the street where we had dinner before the show. If the place is still there, it could be a good meeting place for us southern (displaced Buffalonian) Hipbasers. It's at least encouraging that we may get a show down here. Other places in N.C. they have played are Tremont Music Hall in Charlotte, Ziggys in Winston, and some place in Carborro. I'm not sure if they've done any Raliegh shows, have to check the set list archive I guess.

I'm crossing my fingers for a Las Vegas show, since I plan on heading down there in Oct/Nov.

They haven't played there since '02, so I'm not sure if they will hit LV or not.
