The new rule changes should really help him by opening the ice up a bit for him, and the supposed crack down on clutching and grabbing won't hurt him either. Time will tell I guess. With the raw natural talent he posesses I think he'll find a way to score in the NHL.

i heard somebody on tsn saying that taking out the red line could actually hurt goal scoring because in college hockey it was tried and players would just fall back and lineup at the blueline and wait for the other team to attack...

watching pierre maguire during the draft makes me cringe...this guy gets so over-excited out of nowhere, and starts yelling....i'd hate working beside the guy

well, the habs are probably responsible for the biggest surprise of the day...
i think that Price is a pretty smart pick, he's a great goalie, and you cna never go wrong with a great goalie...rumor has it that the leafs were in the hunt for him, and i wonder if possibly a trade is in the works...
coulda got Brule or Staal, but this works for me, the Rangers really pulled some strings to get Staal, i'm happy for him that he's goin to the big apple, he was a pretty nice/cool guy whenerever i talked to him at school and it should be pretty wild for him in NY.

My Leafs had an eventful day. Drafted a Finnish goalie and traded for Jeff O'Neill. Hockey is back!!

Well played LK....
just a side note on the other hockey games this year...NHL 2k6 from ESPN will feature Bob Cole and Harry Neale , marking the first time the CBC pair have ever done a video game.
And sorry to say it but they are horrible in it. Jim houghston in EA's game has it down packed, Bob and harry sound like they are reading the script like a 10th grader reading a story outloud in english class!

I just listened to it, and yeah they could be a little more lively, but how nice is it to hear that familiar voice of Bob Cole while playing hockey, I think its great that they did it. Personally EA used to be the best for hockey for years, but I totally dig the 2K series the last couple years, EA's gameplay and its arcade feel has put me off, the 2K hockey is way better (imo) At least with 2K it has the all-star skills competition, a bunch of side games, the inclusion of throwback teams and different rinks is a nice addition. I cant wait to play it for xbox360. I will say the EA 06 does look nice though, if they get the gameplay back to the way it should be I might be tempted to try it again.

Im in total agreement that the 2K series of hockey has been the better game for the last 2-years. The physics of the game is soooo better than the EA version plus all the extras you named in your post. And yes it is very nice to hear their voices in the game and i dont blame them i blame the guy that was in charge of getting their voices.
