In Bobcaygeon

Although I'd prefer if they stuck with the original (album) title, I don't think it makes a big difference either way. The thing I'm surprised about is not that it is now posted as "In Bobcaygeon", but that half the time it is written that way and half the time it is written as just "Bobcaygeon". It's the lack of consistency that makes me think it's more of a mistake than a concious decision.

I agree, they should have just stuck with "Bobcaygeon" and I thought it was a mistake too.

Wow, you guys are really Diehard fans to be debating something like this. Really its the bands song and they can call it whatever they want to.

I think maybe the band doesn't care about it so much....

Anthony

Actually, I think probably everyone noticed the little change but since it's not even worth mentioning, nobody mentioned it. I see little changes in lyrics, mistakes in songs all the time but I could care less. Does the fate of the free world really rely on the naming of a song? I mean, will something bad happen if somebody asks you if you like "In Bobcaygeon" instead of asking if you like "Bobcaygeon"?

Note to self... don't start threads about little details. Anyone need another "what's your favourite album" poll?

I agree it's up to the band to name their songs, change their songs, change their titles, etc. Again, I'm not commenting on the change of the name... I'm commenting on the lack of consistency in that it is posted both ways on the website. Maybe the rest of the Hipbase society just isn't as anal as me... that could be too.

I'd just like to add that I spent the weekend shooting a wedding at a resort just outside Peterborough... on Saturday, in Bobcaygeon, I literally watched the constellations reveal themselves one star at a time... and when I'd mention that to people, the most common response was: "What the hell are you talking about?"

...Ah, the joys of being a Hip geek.

The 'In Bobcaygeon' thing really makes no difference to me. At least they're spelling Bobcaygeon correctly. What I enjoy more is the fact that lately they've been writing 'At the Hundreth Meridian'....there's supposed to be a D before the T-H at the end! Not a huge deal either, I just thought it was kind of funny.

I've quoted Greasy Jungle while passing through Hazeldean
and got some odd looks from my fellow road-trippers.
Quoted the Hip in Bobcaygeon, Algonquin Park, Toronto, Kingston...

Next stop: Churchill! Smile

Now that's the type of petty, anal comments I'm lookin for!

I think they should really confuse people and rename it "In Bob's Kitchen".

On an unrelated setlist matter -- I used to think IOD in the setlists was some cryptic reference to a song called 10D, which I assumed was Apartment Song.

a little more at ease,
