Boston show confirmed
#31

I have GA1, he has GA2. I realize GA means general admission. Now, what does 1 & 2 represent.

Mosty likely nothing. I can't think of any way to divide up Avalon, except maybe by separating the little mezzanine overlooking the dance floor -- which I've never seen them do. Most likely, it's some sort of stupid administrative thing: they need to have more than division on the tickets because the ticketing software requires it.

Don't worry about what it says on the tickets; it'll be a milling free-for-all inside, or I'll eat my hat.

holy crap!!! how did i completely overlook this version of grace!! unbelievable!!! never mind the killer sounboard fidelity, but the rant on this is mindblowing and the band is just scorching while hes going to town... fierce!! wow, thanks for making me drag this one out!!! i enjoyed the whole show one more time.

fyi, theres another killer version of grace that i know if.. its one of the wetlands shows just prior to the bills bars shows, i forget which night. Grace is done as the first song of the encore, and the audience sings SOOO LOUUD that gord lets them do a bunch of the lyrics before he comes in. i remember being blown away by it when i first heard it, audience was strong, gord went with it.. cool. but it pales in comparison to the above version. good call there!!

At least Maine made it into Gord's famous "Grace" rant during the 8/10/98 Bill's bar show...

"Just off the coast of maine, not too far from here, where the waters cool and clear, and there's jellyfish if you want them, sting your thigh, sting your ear, and if you get to clear then they'll sting you anyway, and then you get sort of nauseous and chocked up, and then your mom says you gotta stay on the beach for two hours, and she''ll wake you up every hour, because that what she read in "Concussion Tower" monthly magazine for suffers of unconscious, mind-bending sufferage..."

(where does he get all that???? all on the fly no less!)

its either the first or second show at wetlands... but im going from memory here and i think its the 2nd nite 7-22-98.

the second encore begins with grace too, and the audience is pumped... they dominate the band... and the band goes with it..

1998-07-22
first set
poets
fireworks
giftshop
save the planet
don't wake daddy
something on
ahead by a century
vapour trail
so hard done by
chargin falls
at the hundredth meridian
thompson girl
locked in the trunk of a car
escape is at hand for the travellin man
first encore
daredevil
:the rules
we'll go too
second encore
:grace, too
fire in the hole

again, i could be wrong and it could be the first nite, which has grace in the first encore, not the second encore.... it's one of the two.

worth a peek if you have extra time on your hands.
