I picked it up during my lunch break at work today and listened to it in my office. This one is a classic, I don't think there's a single weak tune on it!

I had a very Hip afternoon today. As soon as I got back to the office form picking up the CD, "Boots or Hearts" (:thumb was playing on the radio. I listened to the CD, left my office to get something from the secretary only to find her listening to "Locked in the Trunk of a Car" (:thumb::thumb on her radio. I then delivered something to another employee and found her listening to "Vaccination Scar" (:thumb::thumb::thumb on her radio. All three radios are tuned to different stations.

I've only listened to it a couple times, had a busy day. Now excuse me for waxing the poetic, but...I really really really like it.

I was hoping for some more substantial riffs than were offered in the singles, and the album really delivers. Speaking of the singles, I like the ones they released, but man...if I could pick the singles I definitly would never have been released summer's killing us, I think any other song on this album would have been a smarter single than Summer's Killing Us.

I'm not saying I don't like Summer's Killing Us, I just can't figure out why they would choose it as a single.

But I really like it. I remember when M@W came out and everybody on the newsgroup was going off about how it was the greatest hip album ever. But after a few months, most everyone was ranking it as just slightly better than the debut album (or something along those lines).

For some reason I don't think this same thing will happen with IBE. I don't know why.

What a great June 29 turned out to be...

First my girlfriend was having a meeting right around the corner from my office so we drove in together. Always nice to not have to navigate in rush hour traffic even if for just one day. Then when she picked me up on a beautiful and sunny day here in the GTA I find that she had went and picked up IBE for me!

Not only that but she encouraged me to crank that mother up! (She's not a huge Hip fan but she always comes with to the shows)

Then we went for a nice steak dinner and took the long way home. One of my favourite things to do is just drive with my best girl, doesnt matter where) I'm kind of a dork that way...

Love the guitars on this record. And I love the Gord/Paul combos on the songs. I honestly think that this is my favourite Hip record. I love the fact that I can say that in their 17th plus year of existence. How many bands can you say that about their 11th release?

Fave line Mod Show: Paul, when asked what the juiciest rumour he's heard about the Hip:"That we record live off the floor" That cracked my shit up!

Listened to both all day yesterday while doing dreaded housework..made it so much nicer. :thumb:
