Buffalo Shows - November 18 & 19?
#16

Eastern Canada would make sense too.

Seemed odd that Quebec was left out of the summer tour.

I am not saying this is happening in any way, shape or form.

Just relaying what I have heard about this very interesting topic.

As fans , I can certainly attest to wanting to see Gord healthy enough to do more gigs

but after watching that last tour ...and the finality of that Kingston show

I just don't see any more Hip shows happening and that seems crystal clear to me

Am I missing something ?

I'm happy it's over. Not because I don't want more music or shows -- I do. But because the boys have made enough money to retire comfortably at a relatively young age, and because GD has a very serious and aggressive form of cancer. Maybe he has a lot longer left to live. But he doesn't know if he does or not, and neither does anyone else. He should spend as much time with his family and close friends as he possibly can. And as much as I want to be able to count myself in that number as a devoted fan, I'm not. None of us "know" Gord. We know his music, and that's a great gift to us. But it makes me very happy for him that there are people in his life more important than me, a fan. I'm quite happy to let him live out his days (however many there are) with the people he loves. And I'm happy to live out mine remaining a fan.

While I would be delighted at the prospect of seeing more Hip shows, I'm already looking back on August with nostalgia as the final shows wherein I said goodbye to The Tragically Hip. Saw 2/3 Toronto shows and the Kingston show, and made my peace with it all ending. Those shows were SPECTACULAR, and honestly far better than any Hip shows I've seen in at least 8 years. And that Kingston show is a fucking gem, even with its occasional flubs. The setlist, the rawness, the emotion, and Gord speaking more than any other show that tour... it was so so so good and such a great finale. While it would be amazing for others to see the Hip live some more in Buffalo or wherever, I feel like the Kingston telecast/webcast/radiocast allowed everyone to come together to say goodbye and hear/see them play one last time in one way or another. It won't be topped, and it was a perfect end.

Seriously, I believe Gord should just be spending time with himself and with family/friends.
