It's too mellow to be a rock tune.

I was unaware that rock tunes were not allowed to be mellow, in that case, i am most definately wrong.

Coffee one of the worst-----Whatever buddy.

I agree, Coffee is not very good (maybe it's because i don't like coffee?) by hip standards, but i'm sure it'll grow on me in time...I would've put Skeleton Park in its place instead, and left it as a bonus track, kinda pisses me off a bit that it's a single, easily their worst single to date.

I don't know what the f**k he's smoking either. I'm guessing he's not smoking anything, and the bigger problem is that he has the audacity to have an opinion that differs from yours. How dare he?

Thought I'd re-visit my original synopsis. After listening to the record many times, left it in the Cd player in truck, have grown to like it. Love Now the Struggle and really love Depression Suite remind me of Escape at Hand and Emporer Penguin from PP. Now the wife and I call each other send emails and just walk by each other and say "Are you...going thru...something?" That song's great, fun to try to figure out what Gord's lyrics are about also, not the typical pop stuff, could be why it takes some time to get hooked on an album or why they don't catch on down here stateside. Anyway now there's just one problem, no Colorado tour date, "Don't you wanna see how it ends?"

Funny you should ask, I just read your "what album next post" and was trying to decide what album I would tell you and how I would rank them. Doing this I started to play Fully Completely deciding if it or Up To Here is better. Then read your reply and had to listen to Queen of Furrows-like the tempo changes but I'm still stuck on Depression Suite. Anyhow to reply to your post in my post, I have to begin by saying how jealous I am that you are a newer fan and have this whole back catalouge to digest at your disposal. Similiar to myself with The Rolling Stones having an entire catalouge at my disposal after I first became a fan. I've had to wait 2 years between albums in most cases, where you can go out and buy them at will. Downfall of that is that each album for me represents a different time in my life and kind of make up the soundtrack to it, but in that I also think it sets a prejudice towards my liking certain albums based on them being what I listened to during my care free younger days. Hopefully your in those days right now, remember the "good old days" weren't better, they were just the care free days of who ever tells you that. I must admit though that these days are pretty good and I'm headed off to the river today to kayak and I'll rock out to Queen of Furrows on my way. But my biased opinion goes this way- FC,UTH,PP,RA,DFN,M@W,TAHH,WC,WATS,IVL,IBE,TTH and off course Coke Machine Glow is the best of all, had tickets to the Denver show on Gord's solo tour and it got cancelled due to low ticket sales, that still bugs me to the day.

Ah, man, that sucks big time. I feel for ya. I saw Gord in 2003 with the Country of Miracles and it was a fantastic show. How low would ticket sales have to have been to cancel, I wonder? It's not like they could have been expecting big crowds to begin with.

You seem to completly undestand what Im going through haha. Ya I am really excited to dig deeper in the Hip discography but want to be able to digest each album instead of buying them all at once. I totally forgot about Coke machine glow, I was planning on buying it with WATS but instead I got a copy when I saw the bathouse in theatres.

Kayaking on May 24? I am jealous! I just hosed all the bugs and cob webs out of my canoe. Planning a trip on the mighty grand river in a few weekends.

Anyways have a good one and thanks for the advice, definitly one of the best responses yet.

P.S How cool would it be if Gordo got a 2 song mini solo set on this tour every night?

Just heard Coffee Girl on Spectrum (Sirius Station). I just listen to Recluse, Coffee, Frozen, and Love (3,4,10,11 - easy). I'll get into the other songs later. Frozen is awesome live - Gord gets the crowd to sing the "Whoooa" parts.
