Nirvana opened for the Hip at a club in Madison, Wisconsin. This was sometime around late 1990 if I remember correctly.

I came across a date here for the Hip's show with Nirvana today: 07/07/1989 - O'Cayz Corral, Madison, WI. It notes that "about forty people watched Nirvana open up for The Tragically Hip," and includes the classic listing below from the local paper. ($4 for both bands!) Not sure if that's enough to get it added to the Hipbase database?
