I understand how one might feel that way, but that opinion could apply to any song one doesn't care for in the first place. If one doesn't 'get into' Thugs or Grace or So Hard Done By, I'm sure those cuts would seem extremely boring and repetitive and drag on way too long. Am I right or am I right?
If you do happen to like the cut in the first place, what could be "boring" and "drags on and on" is instead "a grinding jam" and "settles into one ass-kicking groove".
The intro to Giftshop gives me that oft-cited 'tingly & goosebumpy' feeling every single time. It's the prefect tease to the intense impact of "
The pen-du-lummmm swings" which, of course, I know is coming. When performed live, and its energy is more palpable and more visceral, it's about as good as music can be (for me, anyway).
