Thats a very good line.

By the by, could someone define 'paint by numbers' for me...thanks in advance.

isn't it? and the sad thing is, the song got banned on a majority of american radio stations, and very little airplay up in canada....the song is a lot more true than you may know...

What Tom Petty said about his song being abnned:

"I don't really give a flying fuck about any of it. I've tuned out. But I was elated when my song was banned. I mean, nothing could have complimented me more than to hear they just banned it at such-and-such a station because it's anti-radio. Now, in 2002 to have a song banned that doesn't have a dirty word, doesn't advocate violence -- it's fascinating, you know. Like, what are you afraid of? No record has ever been made that was more pro-radio, you know.

"I remember when the radio meant something. We enjoyed the people who were on it, even if we hated them. They had personalities. They were people of taste, who we trusted. And I see that vanishing. I thought it was a good metaphor to start the album."

"Paint by numbers" are like these little canvases you can buy with a painting already drawn on it and you get like a little map of what the finished project looks like and you get little paints and, say, all the greens are the number "4". Then anywhere on this pre-drawn canvas you find the number 4 you paint that section green, etc.

Anyway, the finished copy looks like an actual painting but really an 8-year-old could successfully pull one of these off, so it's my clever little metaphor for the bullshit in the music industry, like you don't have to have skill just lines to colour within.

"This colour goes here and this colour goes here." etc.

Savvy? (in my best Jack Sparrow)

She is going to give it one more try.
I hope she hired a new soundguy to keep the "backing" tapes in order.

Has it really been a year? Wow.

Hard to believe it's been so long and Ashley still has a job.
