Did anyone catch this? Her second song, I'm not sure what it was supposed to be, but the back-dubbed lyrics started prematurely, and she walked right off stage, looking confused/embarrassed/guilty as her band played on and the show went to commercial. Is this essentially irreputable proof that she was intending on lip-sycnhing. I wouldln't doubt it for a second, but at the end of the night she had the nerve to blame her band... man, I hate shit like that... it really bothers me...

Yet another fraud in the music industry. It's a shame fraudulent hacks like her and many others make any money at all in the music industry. It's people like Ashlee Simpson who are ruining music, and her sister too.

Caught it - and it was the highlight of the show. I think they started playing the vocals from the first track she "sang", didn't they? I missed her blaming the band though, but I love that - "The guys really playing their instruments messed up my pretend singing, the bastards!"

if i was a politician...i would draft some sort of bill that made any "fake singing" offense punishable by say....some sort of medical procedure that prevented them from ever speaking again.....this makes me feel old but what is up with kids and their crappy music these days?

i almost posted after the first song about how bad a job she did lip-synching...sweet justice..i hope this wakes people up and they'll stop buying this bullshit...but i bet you anything, it doesn't get the coverage it deserves....and blaming her band..what a nerve..at least they were professional enough to stay out there and play....

this makes SNL look bad as well(not that it's a great show anymore) however, in the SNL biography, lorne michaels swears by the fact he lets no artist lip synch...hmm...guess that's a lie as well

I'm not a singer, but I gotta think she did the right thing. When in doubt, do a hoe-down. Makes a lot more sense then, gee, I don't know, telling the band to start over.
How is it that of the five people on stage, four of them started playing the wrong song? And no mention of the phantom vocals?
