There are so many great guitarists missing from the list, but the list is pretty solid. Some that came to my mind were Steve Vai, John Petrucci, Joe Satriani, Richie Blackmore, Alex Lifesson, Randy Rhoads.... the list goes on. As a guitarist myself, this is a topic that I could over-analyze for hours. On the whole, however, I'd have to say either Vai or Satriani would be at the top of my list.

There are alot of good players. With different sounds and styles its hard to nail down one. But its really hard to argue that Jimi is not the one.

I forgot about Johnny Winter. Noticed he's only nr. 74 in the list of Rolling Stone. That's ridiculously low.
