Psychedelic ramblings of Negative Phil
#16

I think suggestions so far have been very...Hip-esque songs.

I've shown how many non-hip-fan-american friends of mine those same songs and they all seem to have this kind of "meh" response. Even though Locked and Fully and NOIS and so on and so forth are fantastic, I always find they just go right over people's heads if they aren't already fans.

Honestly? To someone who isn't a fan, maybe never even heard of them? I'd sit them down and spin them World Container. The whole album. Not just the song.

I am going to use all live/bootleg tracks. If those dirty hippies want the albums they can purchase them like everyone else.

Songs not in order:

Escape is at hand for the traveling man- XRT M@W Premiere version
The last of the unplucked gems- Demo
The hundredth meridian- ?
The dire wolf- ?
Sherpa- ?

Hey Neg Phil
Fredonia thanks you!
Thanks for the reply. Can't wait for July. That burning sun can't get here too soon! I'll be the one yelling when the band "remembers buffalo". Too bad about the hat!

As a long time jamband phan and even longer Hip fan 10 000 carries a lot of significance for me. No need to go overboard with the compilations though. Just pick up a $5 copy of Live Between Us and give it to them.

For something newer, all jamband fans are familiar with livedownloads.com. Either way it gives a fairly complete concert picture.

For those of you heading to the festival who find themselves unfamiliar with everyone but the Hip, check out the music section of archive.org. Don't get lost though. lol

Thanks for the advice Jack. I am planing to start them with a origonal compilation of jam tunes. My plan is for them to take the bate then I'll start them on "The year of living Tragically". That's when I sit them down once a month with a fatty and new Hip album. Picture the "Parallax View" with better music.
