but i dont think the hip and the dead can be compared in terms of setlists, because the hip have hundreds of less songs than the dead and with the songs they do use, they will repeat anywhere from 8-14 songs a night

i'd be very surprised if you found a dead setlist with:
throwing stones, lovelight, scarlet, fire, wharf rat, not fade away, sugar magnolia and truckin... (for example) repeated every night for an entire tour..

it is commonplace to find: nois, blow, m@w, abac, in view, springtime in vienna, kids don't get it and yer not the ocean repeated every night for an entire tour

dead + the hip is comparing apples and oranges
despite having significantly less songs than the dead, they're repeating the same 20 songs and maybe rotating another 10-20 into the setlists throughout an entire tour

I think that the Hip are just trying to please the majority of the audience, which are casual fans. They have so many hits. After Fort York night two, I heard people complaining about the setlist as soon as the show was over. First time they played 38 Years Old in what? 12 years? And people were complaining. That's not to mention the goodies such as Something On, Chagrin Falls, Putting Down, and Don't Wake Daddy as an opener. But the casual fans were a little upset they didn't hear songs like Bobcaygeon. The entire 06 summer fling was filled with amazing setlists and still people weren't happy. You can't please all of the people all of the time.

I do not have the time and Money to see them whenever I want. In fact on this tour, I saw them at the very beginning in November 2006 in MOntreal and again in November 2007. That's it, so in no way, am I tired of seeing certain songs.

Also, I'm not sure why you are making reference that I should enjoy the songs at the show. Not once have I said that I don't like the songs being played. If you read my original post, I actually say that I love all of these songs.

I simply thought it would be fun to start a poll, so people could voice there opinions. I didn't think would get shit on for such an innocent thing. Sorry if anyone was offended by this.

Downie24, sorry I came off a bit harsh. Caught me on a bad night, or visa-versa would be more like it. I get your point, and obviously you got mine as well.

I know...comparing the Dead and the Hip is a bit of a stretch when it comes to playing live. In retrospect we could have gone into the 'Rush' thing again, and I love Rush, but again, just trying to make a point. I will do it in a better tone in the future.
