Problem Bear... Im just curious, what was the song played in the background of regis and kathey lee?

If I recall correctly, when the show was returning from a commercial break, 'The Darkest One' was playing in the background. From what I remember, though, this wasn't a commercial spotlight or anything of the like; I think the stage director was a fan.

So you're basically afraid that The Hip will end up like Modest Mouse with songs on MTV and the O.C.? I think The Hip are too big of a part of Canadian culture to take that route.

What about a Zellers commercial then????????

I have no idea why having songs on MTV or the O.C. would be a bad thing.
Especially since stations and shows pick which songs will be played, not the other way around. You know, the Hip once had a song play in the background on Regis and Kathie Lee. Somehow I never thought of that as a misstep.

I didn't say it. I was trying to see if I understood what the guy I quoted was saying. And Modest Mouse being on the O.C. was the worst career moves they ever made. One of my friends went to an MM show a few weeks after "The View" was on the O.C. and the show was 90% little preppy girls who heard "Float On" and "The View" and had no idea whatsoever who they were. The fact of them being on the O.C, coupled with their new sound forced them into the mainstream where they didn't and still don't belong or seem to feel comfortable. I seriously doubt that The Hip will cross over to the US and even if they do their success will be minimal and I'd like it to stay that way. Many times, when a band hits the mainstream, they feel pressured to make music that will keep them there. They like the fame and the money and they feel comfortable. Now, making marketable music isn't always a bad thing (Ted Leo is one of the best examples), but it does change, Sometimes for the better (Ted Leo, The Beatles) and sometimes for the worst (Modest Mouse, Nirvana), but when a band has been around for long enough and hits the mainstream after some or a lot of underground success, they change.

Nope it was the National Pregame show or halftime show, can't remember
it had nothing to do with the Bills, They were showing clips of crushing hits and plays and courage was playing as the accompanying music.
