Wow, that really seems like a bit of a headache.
When it comes to Sympatico, I believe it's moreso an issue of them not offering technical support if a problem were to arise with the Mac on the wireless network, rather than there being a non-compatibility problem. (but I may be wrong)

So it looks like Rogers has ramped up their plan to stop torrents... as I can't get more than 3kbs up or down the past few days.
Thankfully I'm in the process of switching to Bell... but they are so busy with new sign-ups, the earliest appointment I could get is August 8; and I called on July 25!!!
Additionally, the 3Web issue is that it will work with Macs, as long as you have a PC online on your network that you can install the 3Web software on. Their service works with Macs, but their software doesn't... and it is needed in order to get the max speeds they advertise. Currently you might get the speeds without the software, but with the changes that they are implementing, the software will become mandatory.

I called 3Web when I started having these issues with Rogers and spoke with a very friendly tech support agent. He filled me in on how their process works, and why it's only for PCs, etc... Maybe your speeds will be back to their advertised level if you install their software?

I haven't had any problems will Bell this summer, but I'm scared to think what Shaw might be like up north. Maybe Linds and I should switch to Bell for her apartment downtown though.

The issues are with 3Web only... and srb has 3Web. Basically all of the ISP's lease their bandwidth from Bell...
