interesting new New York State Law

BTW, I also posted this on my Live Journal and I guess it's a law in many other states!

Problem is people dont use common sense. People can just be down right stupid at times.

I see it everyday where there is a train track close by. The lights go on to warn people that a train is coming and all the time people just take the chance and go right through. Is really worth it? Can you not wait the few minutes? Is it that important that you rush through.

Or the idiot who always plays dumb and races through to make the advanced left after the light turns off. So stupid, because if there is an accident you are going to be blamed and have fun dealing with potentially injuring someone (morally and financially) and your insurance.

Driving I-94 the other day, I was struck by the signs in construction zones. Not just the "fines doubled in construction zones" but the "kill a worker: $7500 plus fifteen years."

Is that what it takes to get people to pay attention?
