The CD which had my expectations up for Copyright is called "Transfiguration". The title track and the song "Radio" make for good headphone listening, and I'm sure both these songs have been played before the Hip have taken stage, at least at California gigs (i've noticed "Radio" on a couple of occasions).

Transfiguration is the song, and a GREAT song, the album was called Love Story. My sister used to date their drummer, a couple of them were real living freak shows...but their first indie CD with Transfiguration on it was great. I was really disappointed they never lived up to it again.

Yep. Can't believe somebody else knows about that place! Nothing says class like a big neon sign that says "Danceurs" and is flanked by two of the sleeziest looking silhouttes you've ever seen.

We'll have to have a Hipbase get together there.

ahh yes. "Transfiguration" was indeed the name of the song, not the album ("Love Story"). Maybe that's why I can't find it in my alphabetically organized CD collection...

btw, didn't Montreal have a football team called "The Machine" for a while? I always wondered if it had been a quasi sports entertainment branding vehicle for the Rock Machine back in the day before everything became a quasi sports entertainment branding vehicle. Okay, now back to the Terrell Owens saga...
