The bonus track: case in point
#16

True BONUS tracks should be released on 45 . yup on a tiny record to be ordered off the website with a bar code you recieve in the cd you buy. If they are just added on the cd then anybody will end up getting them for free off the internet anyways. Plus it would be a good idea to put the bonus tracks on a limited release album. Then they will truly be " collectors items" I prefer to buy album format as a collectors item and I also by the CD anyways. And what ever happened to the free huge posters that used to come in albums also??? Throw one of them in a limited release LP also. And number it. Now your talking collectors item. I know this is off the " bonus track" topic but , really unless you put the bonus track on something that is a collectors item then its just another song on a cd to be downloaded.

Bonus tracks=angry fan

I'm a huge black crowes fan and bought all their albums on or close to the day they came out. Quite a few years ago I was cd shopping and found that all of their studio albums had been remastered and released with 2 or 3 bonus b-sides. If I wanted these songs my only option was to BUY THEIR WHOLE CATALOGUE AGAIN. :nooooo

Another example was Lenny Kravitz who reissued a cd 3 months after it came out with american woman as a bonus. Again, only option to have that song was to buy entire cd. :censored

It was around this time napster came out. Big Grin :music
