My hatred of Mariah and Madonna is much greater than my annoyance at Celine, so for me even the worst of the Barrie show could have been much, much worse.

I thought the Barrie lineup kicked ass. Aside from London I thought ours was the best -- and I'm only 23. Smile

I agree, except for London's lineup I thought the Barrie one was the best..so 2nd best i guess you could say....

I think we need some sort of exchange rate listing, or something like that, to determine the relative "value" of crappy acts.

For example, if Celine Dion cancels 8 good acts, how many good acts are cancelled by Nickelback? Or by Good Charlotte?

Who knows, we may need to know this some day, in case there's ever a "Live 8 Part 2", or a "Live 9", or whatever. Big Grin

I was backpacking across China a few years ago, and was in the city of Chengdu, in the Sichuan province (the west). Lo' and behold I spy something of a backpackers bar (which are very very very few and far between in China) called Paul's -- posted on the bar's sign, just below the name, were the words "No Celine Dion!".

I went in and spent the next couple of days drinkin' beers, eatin' cheese pizza, and scarfin' brownies while listening to some good tunes and hangin out with some cool people, expats, travellers and Chinese alike.

Awesome.

BTW, I have a personal ban on Mariah Carey, too.

I totally agree.

One big point seems to be begging to be made:

If The Hip is on bill, nothing else matters. Celine does come close to ruining it though. Thankfully I missed her.
