A Winter Poem - Marcus1970 - 12-22-2012
Nights are getting cold
The summer is done
You can see your breath
By the morning sun
The season builds
So cold and dark
The little leaves
Dead and stark
A snowflake
Coming down to freeze
Snow falling
Ice is covering the trees
The way it falls all over
Most days and nights
Looks like Christmas
Turn on all the lights
Cold wind blowing
Across the frozen lake
The river don’t sleep
And I’m wide awake
Out through the snow
You yelled in my ear
“It’s wintertime”
The start of another new year
Each of lines in the poem is a verse from a Hip song. See how many songs you can identify from the 28 lines.
