Legal Help ... sort of -

If I decide that I want to "evict" my roommate, what am I legally able to do?
My name is on the lease, his/hers is not, and she/he is strictly renting from me. She/He pays me her/his part of the rent in cash, I then deposit that into a bank account, where my check is cashed, that I have written to the landlord.
We are in a two bedroom apartment. He/She is renting the bedroom.
What laws am I required to follow?
Thanks

I'm no lawyer but
I think all you really have to do is give her a months notice to scram, she's not on the lease as well so I guess as long as you give here the month to find a new place thats all you need to do.

Scram is a great word. It should be used much, much more often, but I digress. I'm pretty sure that if your name is the ONLY ONE on the lease then you do as you please. Tell that bee-yotch to scram forthwith, as it were.
Carry on.

Where do you live. Each province has their owns laws. If you are in Ontario you should read this site and contact them if you have questions.

I was under the impression that the only people allowed to be living in the apt. anyway are the people who's names are on the lease.
I don't think this is a "legal" thing per se. I think all you have to do is as other's have suggested, is to tell him/her to
scram cause its your name on the lease and you're the one responsible for the apt.
